The OpenAccountants franchise
Run your country.
Open Accountants is building what a firm should look like in 2026: AI agents prepare the work, a licensed accountant reviews and signs everything, and clients pay clear fixed fees — with the numbers published as we go. We are building the first firm on this model ourselves. The ambition is what the Big Four would look like if they were founded this year: AI-first, one accountant per country — and we're looking for those accountants now.
Apply for your countryYou bring
Your licence, your judgment, your signature. You review, you sign, and you own the client relationships in your country. Fixed fees, never hourly, priced to win your market.
We bring
The agents and automations, built for your firm by our engineers — we invest our own time and money in making you efficient. The marketing that fills your pipeline. The network behind you: leads, referrals and cross-border work routed to your country. The brand, the standard, and a playbook we write together.
Who we're looking for
Licensed in your country, early enough in your career to bet on a new model, and more excited than threatened by where the profession is going. You don't need to be technical. You need to be the kind of accountant who thinks the billable hour is ending.
What this is
A founding seat, not a finished product. The first accountants build this with us and shape it for their market. If you want something polished and proven, wait a year.
Questions you should ask
What happens to my current clients?
They come with you — and they stay yours. Moving them onto the model is the first thing we do together: agents preparing behind you, your name on everything, a clear fixed fee for them. The relationship is yours and stays yours.
Who signs the work, and who is liable?
You do, and you are. Every piece of work is reviewed and signed by you, under your licence, exactly as the professional rules in your country require. The agents prepare; they never sign. That is how a real firm runs, and it is the whole point of the model.
Do I have to leave my practice or my job to start?
Yes. This is a firm, not a side project — running your country is the job. There's a transition and we plan it together, but the seat is for someone who intends to make this their practice.
What does it cost me?
Applying costs nothing and there is no fee to talk. The economics of the seat — how revenue is shared, what we invest, what you commit — are put on the table openly over email. Both sides commit, and both sides know exactly what they're committing to before anything is signed.
Am I signing a franchise agreement by applying?
No. 'Franchise' describes the shape — your licence, our brand, engineering and playbook — not paperwork. This is a business relationship and it gets papered like one: worked out with the first accountants, in writing, before anything binds either side.
Accountants in my country already contribute Guides. Does that block me?
No. The knowledge layer stays open to every accountant, and contributors keep contributing. The seat is something else entirely: the firm — one accountant running client work in that country as a business.
Do I need to bring my own AI or software?
No. We build and run the automations for your firm — our engineers, our money. That investment is part of the deal. You bring a licence and judgment, not a tech stack.
What do you expect from me?
That you treat it as your firm, because it is. You run the client work, you hold the standard, you build your market with us. We are not collecting sign-ups — we're choosing a handful of people to build a real business with, one per country, and we say no to most.
A handful of countries. One accountant each.
Apply below. Every application is read and answered personally, and the details — economics, terms, where we really are — get discussed openly over email.
The Open Accountants knowledge layer stays free for everyone, forever, regardless of what the firm becomes.
