I am an ACA-qualified accountant with over 9 years of experience, and my career has progressed from accounting to auditing, then into tax planning and advisory services. Throughout my career, I have worked with clients across various industries, including technology, holding and investment structures, professional services, real estate etc. My experience covers Cyprus taxation for both individuals and companies, although my main focus over the past four years has been corporate taxation. During this time, I have been involved in tax planning, tax compliance, and transfer pricing studies for Cyprus companies. My background in accounting, audit, tax, and advisory allows me to look at issues from different angles and provide practical solutions that work both from a business and compliance perspective. I would be very excited to contribute to the Open Accountants network, particularly in the area of Cyprus corporate taxation and transfer pricing which are different areas but are essentially linked. One of the main reasons I am interested in joining is that, as a freelancer, I come across numerous projects every week that require at least some level of tax knowledge from another jurisdiction. Even in advisory projects such as business valuations or transaction related work, clients often need an understanding of the tax implications in countries outside my area of expertise. While research tools have become very useful, I have learned that currently nothing replaces the knowledge of a local professional who works with a country's tax system every day. Having access to a trusted network of experts would allow me to collaborate with specialists from other jurisdictions and deliver better, more reliable advice to clients. At the same time, I would be very happy to contribute my own expertise in Cyprus taxation whenever it can help other members of the network. I believe this is a great opportunity to share knowledge, collaborate with like minded professionals, and ultimately provide a higher level of service to clients around the world.
