Example 2 — Banco Galicia (Córdoba, Architect)

Bank: Banco Galicia statement Client: Lucía Fernández, architect, Córdoba, married with 2 children

Gross income: ARS 35,000,000 Expenses: ARS 8,000,000 (staff, office rent, software, materials) Jubilación: ARS 2,400,000 Obra social: ARS 600,000 (check 5% cap)

Personal deductions: GNI + DE (2.5x) + cónyuge + 2 hijos = ARS 13,706,939 + ARS 3,688,339 + ARS 3,720,086 = ARS 21,115,364

Ganancia neta imponible: ARS 35,000,000 - 8,000,000 - 3,000,000 - 21,115,364 = ARS 2,884,636

Tax: bracket 1,750,027–3,500,053 at 9% = ARS 87,501 + (2,884,636 - 1,750,027) x 9% = ARS 87,501 + ARS 102,115 = ARS 189,616

Flag: Verify spouse income is below GNI. Verify Bienes Personales.

Example 3 — Santander Argentina (CABA, Digital Creator with Percepciones)

Bank: Santander Argentina Client: Diego Ruiz, digital creator, receives foreign payments, large percepciones from USD purchases

Gross income: ARS 18,000,000 (mix of domestic and foreign) Percepciones from USD purchases: ARS 3,500,000 (RG 4815 + adelanto Ganancias)

After deductions and personal allowances, tax per scale: ARS 1,200,000 Less percepciones: ARS 3,500,000 Result: Saldo a favor (credit balance) ARS 2,300,000

Flag: Percepciones exceed computed tax. Client has saldo a favor. Verify all percepción certificates.

Example 4 — Brubank (CABA, Freelance Developer, Low Income)

Bank: Brubank (digital bank) Client: Ana García, freelance developer, single, no dependants

Gross income: ARS 15,000,000 Expenses: ARS 4,000,000 Jubilación: ARS 1,800,000

After GNI + DE (2.5x) = ARS 13,706,939: Ganancia neta imponible: ARS 15,000,000 - 4,000,000 - 1,800,000 - 13,706,939 = max(0, -4,506,939) = ARS 0

Tax: ARS 0. Personal deductions fully shelter the income.

Example 5 — Banco Macro (Tucumán, Physician with Gastos sin Factura)

Bank: Banco Macro Client: Dr. Carlos Méndez, physician, Tucumán

Issue: Client claims ARS 2,000,000 in expenses without facturas.

Resolution: NOT deductible under art. 83. Additionally, art. 38 imposes 35% punitive tax on undocumented expenses = ARS 700,000 additional tax. Remove from deductions and flag.

Example 6 — BBVA Argentina (Mendoza, Consultant with Mixed Income)

Bank: BBVA Argentina Client: Patricia Vega, consultant, Mendoza, also earns rental income

Self-employment: ARS 22,000,000 Rental income (1ra categoría): ARS 6,000,000 Total ganancia bruta: ARS 28,000,000

All income categories aggregate. Apply expenses per category. Apply GNI + DE + cargas to combined ganancia neta. Flag: Bienes Personales likely triggered by real property.

Section 5 — Tier 1 Rules (Apply Directly)

T1-AR-1 — Autónomos use the 2.5x multiplier, NEVER 3.8x The deducción especial multiplier of 3.8x is exclusively for empleados en relación de dependencia. Autónomos use 2.5x the ganancia no imponible. Apply without escalating.

T1-AR-2 — Undocumented expenses trigger 35% punitive tax Gastos sin factura are not only non-deductible but subject to an additional 35% tax on the gross undocumented amount under art. 38 of Ley 20.628. Always flag and compute the 35% penalty.

T1-AR-3 — Percepciones are credits, not deductions Percepciones suffered (e.g., RG 4815 on foreign currency purchases, import percepciones) are credits against the annual DDJJ Ganancias. They reduce the final tax balance payable. If percepciones exceed tax, a saldo a favor results.

T1-AR-4 — Anticipos are credits, not deductions Advance payments (anticipos) paid bimonthly are credits against the final DDJJ. They are NOT deductible expenses.

T1-AR-5 — Cargas de familia: dependent must earn below GNI The cónyuge and hijo deductions only apply if the dependent's own income is below the ganancia no imponible. Verify before applying.

T1-AR-6 — Semi-annual threshold adjustment is mandatory Argentina adjusts tax scale thresholds and personal deduction amounts every 6 months by IPC. Each semester's income must use that semester's applicable thresholds. Never use a full-year table from a single semester.

T1-AR-7 — Bienes Personales must be considered alongside Ganancias Bienes Personales is a separate wealth tax (progressive 0.5% to 1.75%) filed on the same schedule as Ganancias. Always flag when a client's asset base may exceed the threshold.

Section 6 — Tier 2 Catalogue (Reviewer Judgement Required)

CodeSituationEscalation ReasonSuggested Treatment

T2-AR-3Motor vehicle business use percentageLimited deduction under art. 88; acquisition and running costs cappedFlag — vehicle business-use percentage must be documented
T2-AR-4Semi-annual threshold applicationEach semester may have different amounts; annual DDJJ aggregates bothFlag — confirm correct semester thresholds applied
T2-AR-5Bienes Personales interactionAssets above threshold trigger wealth tax; filed alongside GananciasFlag — verify asset base and threshold; separate computation

Section 9 — Onboarding Fallback

Tax category confirmation:

"Before I can compute your Ganancias, I need to confirm your tax category. Are you registered as an autónomo (Responsable Inscripto) or are you in Monotributo? If Monotributo, you pay a fixed monthly fee (DAS) and do not file a Ganancias return on this income — a different skill applies. If you are a Responsable Inscripto autónomo, this skill applies. Please check your status at www.arca.gob.ar with your Clave Fiscal."

Missing facturas:

"Argentine tax law requires all deductible expenses to be supported by facturas electrónicas. Expenses without facturas are not only non-deductible but trigger a 35% punitive tax under art. 38 of Ley 20.628. Please ensure all claimed expenses have corresponding facturas. You can verify your received facturas at www.arca.gob.ar → 'Mis Comprobantes'."

Percepciones verification:

"I see you may have percepciones from foreign currency purchases or imports (RG 4815 / Impuesto PAÍS). These are credits against your Ganancias DDJJ. To claim them, I need the percepción certificates. You can download them from your ARCA account under 'Mis Retenciones' or check your bank statements for percepción line items."

Bienes Personales reminder:

This tax applies to worldwide assets exceeding a threshold updated annually by ARCA. Do you own real estate, vehicles, investments, or bank deposits that in aggregate might exceed the threshold? Bienes Personales is filed on the same schedule as Ganancias."
