© 2026 OpenAccountants. Accounting services and free, source-cited skills.

OpenAccountants is a trading name of Glimpse Ltd, a company registered in Malta. We do accounting and tax work for business owners under a separate written engagement. We are not a US CPA firm and do not perform audits; US returns are signed by a US CPA or enrolled agent named in your engagement. Our free skills and automated outputs are general reference material; using them does not create an engagement or submit a filing.

Contribute a skill

A skill is the tax rules your AI follows.

Skills are added through pull requests on GitHub by verified accountants. If you do not use GitHub with your AI yet, this is the moment to start.

  1. 1. Sign up and get verified

Then add your GitHub username to your profile. The pull request check looks for it, so a request from a username we do not have on file is not merged.

Sign up and applySign in and apply
  2. 2. Let your AI write the file

Copy the prompt below into Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor, say which country and job the skill covers, and let it write the file from our template.

No account needed to copy it.

I am a verified accountant. Help me contribute one skill to OpenAccountants.
A skill is one markdown file of tax rules an AI follows for one job.

    Country: Chad (code: TD)
Job the skill covers: <the tax job this skill covers>

    Do this, in order:
    1. Fork https://github.com/openaccountants/openaccountants and clone my fork.
    2. Read docs/skill-template.md and docs/REPO-LAYOUT.md in the repo. Follow the template exactly.
    3. Look in skills/international/chad/ first. If a skill for this job already exists, improve that file instead of adding a second one.
    4. Write ONE skill file in skills/international/chad/ named <country-or-topic>-<domain>.md (lowercase, hyphens).
    5. The frontmatter must include: name, description, version, jurisdiction: TD, tax_year, category, depends_on, verified_by.
    6. Every figure (rate, threshold, deadline, allowance) is cited to an official source with the link next to it. No source, no figure.
    7. Include the year sentence from the template ("This skill is current for tax year ... as of ..."), one worked example with real numbers, and the disclaimer block.
    8. Show me the whole file and wait for my corrections before you commit anything.
    9. Commit, push to my fork, and open a pull request against https://github.com/openaccountants/openaccountants. In the PR description say what the skill covers and tick the agreement (CLA) box.

Rules: no invented numbers, no secondary sources where an official one exists, no changes to files under packages/.
  3. 3. Open the pull request

Open the pull request on GitHub and tick the agreement box. The rules are in CONTRIBUTING.md.

  4. 4. We check, merge and credit you

A check confirms you are a verified accountant. Then Michael or Ryan merges it and it is live on the site and in every connected AI, credited to you by name.
